The Downtown Core Rehabilitation Area will be reinforced as a compact community of higher density housing types in new or rehabilitated/expanded buildings with ground level retail or office uses, where appropriate, and within walking distance of employment and services, bus routes, recreation spaces, and civic uses. The maximum request per business is $5,000. The program has been reopened to accept applications for the two remaining grants. The intent of the program is to assist small startups to begin and grow their business. Eligible businesses are business with 5 or fewer employees (including owners) and that are low/moderate income or creating new jobs of which 51% will be for low/moderate income employees.
